Landscaping
St. George, Parkwest
Involved from the beginning in providing soft landscaping to whole new development built on a former RAF site near
Heathrow.
St George West London had engaged an architectural practice who had come up with a fabulous scheme that linked communal
parklands, luxuriant planting surrounding each apartment block and an innovative roof garden.
Time was of the essence but specialist trees, hedging material were able to be sourced on the continent and delivered in
time (some in refrigerated lorries) for immediate use.
Large clipped magnolia grandiflora were used in the roof garden and this involved road closure and usage of a 50 tonne
crane to lift each individual specimen into position.
200 tonnes of specialist lightweight soil also needed to be lifted into position.
Project included use of over 200 different species of trees, shrubs and bulbs as well as 5000m² of turf.
It also included the installation of a multi level irrigation system.
Project awarded Landscape of the Year – Gold Award for Daily Express New Home Garden Awards
Value of contract 0.6 million.
